Biblical Context
Psalm 65:3-5 speaks of purification, coming near God, and dwelling in the divine presence. It shows forgiveness and answered prayer as experiences of consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this Psalm, the 'iniquities' are the persistent thoughts of separation in your mind. They prevail only as you forget your true nature as the I AM. The purge is not punishment but a reorientation of consciousness: as you consent to the I AM, you are cleansed and old patterns loosen. The blessing of being chosen to approach and dwell in the courts describes a state where you stand in the inner temple of awareness, tasting the goodness of the divine house. The phrase 'terrible things in righteousness' becomes the constructive challenges that arise when you live as truth, cleansing and proving your faith. God, the God of our salvation, is the confidence of all the ends of the earth, including those afar—an inner assurance that holds you steady wherever you seem to be. The distant sea images the apparent distances dissolved by awareness. The message is simple: you may claim purification, near communion with the I AM, and a trustworthy response from the divine within you.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, place your hand on your chest, and repeat, 'I am purified by the I AM; I dwell in the divine presence.' Feel the truth as real now and let the inner temple answer in quiet confidence.
