Biblical Context
Psalm 64:9-10 speaks of acknowledging God’s works and declaring them. The righteous rejoice in the LORD, trust Him, and the upright in heart glory.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 9 presents the inner drama of awakening to God’s activity within consciousness. In Neville’s lens, fear and awe are not distant emotions but signals that the I AM is awareness stirring itself to notice what imagination has wrought. To declare the work of God is to acknowledge the creative acts already finished in the world of mind, and to wisely consider of his doing is to observe the habits of imagination that produce form. The righteous joy in the LORD and trust are states you cultivate by aligning attention with the truth you intend to experience; they become the felt presence that makes the external life respond. When the heart is upright, glory follows as a natural expression of a mind that has settled into its proper ruler: the one who sees God’s hand in every circumstance, and therefore renders praise not from obligation but from recognition. The entire passage is a reminder that divine work is inner, and your task is to dwell as that work, till your life reflects the lucent truth you have chosen to know.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and enter the feeling of being the I AM, the awareness that declares God’s work. Assume the state of gladness, trust, and upright heart for a moment, and repeat, 'God’s work is done in me now.'
