Biblical Context
Psalm 64:2-6 depicts a plea to be hidden from covert plots and bitter words aimed at the righteous. It also describes an inner activity of deep, hidden thoughts and the heart's counsel.
Neville's Inner Vision
That Psalm does not narrate a distant battle between tribes; it reveals a battle within you. The secret counsel and the workers of iniquity are not persons but states of consciousness—fear, suspicion, and the urge to wound with bitter words. When you identify with your true I AM, you discover that these inner voices cannot penetrate the shield of awareness. The perfect is your own illuminated center, the I AM that nothing can touch; those covert arrows fly because you believe them, not because they harm you. Yet the heart of the matter is their scheming, their hidden laying of snares; they think they can outwit you. Neville would say: stop striving to protect the outer world and begin to inhabit the inner condition that makes the outer appear as it does. Assume the end—already free, already whole, already guarded by consciousness as the only reality. The inner picture you hold will dissolve the impression of attack, and the day you feel the secret as mere words in the air is the day you are truly safe.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of the I AM as your constant, invisible shield. Silently declare, 'Only the I AM sees me; nothing can reach my perfect state,' and feel the calm presence replace fear.
