Inner Descent Of The Seekers

Psalms 63:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 63 in context

Scripture Focus

9But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
Psalms 63:9

Biblical Context

Those who seek to destroy my soul are warned they will descend to the depths. The verse presents attack as a movement of inner forces—threats arise from within and can be dissolved by inner understanding.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville Goddard, Psalm 63:9 is a map of consciousness. The 'seekers of my soul' are not external enemies but habits of mind—fears, doubts, and negative identifications that would pull me downward. 'To go into the lower parts of the earth' represents descending into the subconscious belief, the realm where I imagine destruction because I have identified with fear. The cure is not to battle outsiders but to awaken to the I AM present as awareness and reclaim the scene by revision. When I assume I am intact, the 'attack' loses its charge; my world is an expression of what I affirm inwardly. By feeling it real that I am sovereign, not subject to the claims of hostile states, I alter the state itself. Any threat is a call to exercise consciousness; I can choose to stand in the truth of my wholeness and watch the outer figures melt as images in a dream beneath the light of awareness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the scene: see the pursuer stepping into the light of your I AM and dissolving; then affirm and feel you stand unbroken, safe, and sovereign. Repeat with heartfelt conviction until the impression shifts.
