Inner Wealth Over Vanity

Psalms 62:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 62 in context

Scripture Focus

9Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
10Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
Psalms 62:9-10

Biblical Context

External rank and riches are fleeting vanities. The psalm warns not to trust oppression or set your heart on wealth, but to seek inner security.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that 'low degree' and 'high degree' are not persons but inner states. To call them vanity or a lie is to remind you that every external rating is a passing appearance weighed by your own consciousness. The balance they are laid in is the scale of awareness you carry; to trust their judgments is to surrender your power to vanity. If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them; for riches are not the cause but the sign of your inner wealth. Your true wealth is the I AM, the awareness that is the source of all forms. Do not oppress others to gain, and do not be ruled by oppression, for real power is imagination rightly directed. By assuming the feeling of abundance as your permanent state, you transform the outer world to align with that inner reality. The verse invites you to shift from fear of loss to confidence in your inner kingdom, which alone endures.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare: I AM the I AM; abundance is my natural state. Sit with that realization until it feels like your living thought.
