Inner Rock of Trust
Psalms 62:1-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 62 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Salvation and refuge come from God alone; the psalm invites steadfast trust, patience, and the rejection of worldly power or riches as guarantees.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider these verses as a map of inner life. Truly my soul waits upon God; salvation comes from the I AM within. The rock and fortress stand not as distant figures but as your present awareness that remains unmoved while the world rattles; to trust is to acknowledge that power belongs to God in the very center of consciousness. When you hear thoughts of attack or feel the pressure of others’ schemes, you do not meet them as an external battle. You revise your assumption: 'In this mind, I am safe; in this awareness, I am defended.' This is the meaning of 'he is my defence; I shall not be moved.' The lines about vanity of riches and the lies of high status reveal what you must refuse to make real in your inner scene. Trust in God at all times, pour out your heart before Him, and let the I AM supply your refuge. The decree 'power belongeth unto God' is the anchor; mercy flows from the same source. In practice, wait with the inner posture that the problem is a mental image dissolving in consciousness, not a fact you must conquer.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, place your hand on your chest, and repeat: 'My soul waits upon God; salvation comes from the I AM.' Then revise any anxious thought by declaring 'Power belongeth unto God' and feel the truth as a present refuge.
