Biblical Context
Psalm 61:1 presents a cry for help that is really a call for inner attention and awakening of consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your cry 'Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer' is not a plea to an external power, but a testifying of your own state of awareness. God is not away from you but the I AM within you, the sentience that can attend to itself. When you hear the cry, you are awakening to the fact that the answer is already present in the inner life. The call for attention is a request you can honor by shifting from lack-consciousness to the assumption of fulfillment. To Neville-ize it, make the unwavering assumption that you are heard by the very Presence within you, and that attention follows belief. In imagination you revise your sense of separation and dwell in the conviction that your prayer has been answered in the present moment. Imagination creates reality; therefore–in your stillness–see, feel, and declare the outcome as already established. Your Providence is the ongoing guidance that aligns circumstances with your inner state. Keeping this stance long enough causes the outer to reflect the inner, and you will find the 'attending' you sought arriving as events, opportunities, and signs confirming the inner hearing.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already heard. Feel the I AM attending your cry and imagine a scene where your need is met, dwelling in that success until it feels real.
