Read Psalms 60 in context

Scripture Focus

3Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
5That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.
Psalms 60:3-5

Biblical Context

Psalm 60:3-5 speaks of hard things and the wine of astonishment. It then presents a banner for those who fear God, and a plea that deliverance come by the right hand.

Neville's Inner Vision

Place yourself inside the psalm as your own state of consciousness. The hard things and the wine of astonishment are not fate, but the old condition dissolving under a new assumption. The banner is an inner symbol of truth you choose to display to yourself, not an event to beg for. When the psalm says deliverance for 'thy beloved,' it is you, the beloved, waking to the certainty that your I AM will rescue the entire self from limitation. The 'right hand' is the act of inner power—your firm conviction that the imagined scene is true now. 'Hear me' is the I AM listening to your revision with perfect attention. Cast out the idea that you must suffer; instead, assume the feeling of rescue, dwell in the recognition that God, the I AM, is always present and actively restoring your consciousness. When you align with that truth, the apparent hardship bows to your new state, and the banner of truth is displayed in your life as health, relief, and peace.

Practice This Now

Sit with your eyes closed and repeat in the I AM voice, 'I am saved now,' until you feel the relief as your inner state shifts; dwell on the sense that the right hand of God is supporting you, until it feels self-evident.
