Inner Help Beyond Human Aid

Psalms 60:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 60 in context

Scripture Focus

11Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Psalms 60:11

Biblical Context

Psalm 60:11 declares that help from man is vain; true relief comes from a higher source.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 60:11 declares that help from man is vain, because true relief flows from a higher source. Neville Goddard would teach that the I AM—your essential awareness within—alone is the real helper. When you stop appealing to a person or circumstance to fix you and instead assume the presence of the inner authority, you rewrite the scene. Picture the I AM actively attending to your need, guiding steps, supplying even the seeming lack, and keeping you within a state of peace. The outer trouble is but a signal of a prior inner belief; change the inner belief and the outer scene shifts. Dwelling in the feeling of the wish fulfilled, you awaken to the truth that you are not separate from the divine life that moves all things. The verse, thus, is a friendly reminder to turn from dependence on others to dependence on your own awakened consciousness, through which all problems dissolve as you inhabit the certainty that you are already helped.

Practice This Now

Sit comfortably, place a hand on your chest, close your eyes, and repeat softly, 'I AM with me now; help is here in the I AM.' Then imagine one concrete need already solved, see the scene in your mind's eye, and feel gratitude.
