Inner State of Wickedness
Psalms 58:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm portrays the wicked as detached from the womb, turning away from truth and speaking lies. The imagery of poison and a deaf ear shows how this misalignment blocks listening to inner guidance.
Neville's Inner Vision
According to Neville, Psalms’ judgment of the wicked is a description of a state, not a tribe. The lines say the wicked are estranged from the womb and speak lies, their venom like a serpent, deaf to any charmers. This is your own mind when you entertain separation from I AM. The 'poison' is the belief that you are unworthy, unsafe, or unloved, a belief that poisons feeling and action. The 'deaf adder' who stops her ear is your thoughts that refuse the inner whispers of truth. The 'voice of charmers' is the inner invitation of God within you; charming wisdom is always speaking in the present, but you must listen. To reinterpret, assume you are aligned with the divine now. Feel the reality of being attended by inner wisdom; revision involves declaring, I am one with God, I hear His voice now, and no belief of separation can alter that. When you dwell in that awareness, the venom dries up and the mind becomes receptive rather than resistant.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the inner charmers’ voice speaks to you now; feel I AM present, hearing truth. Revise the scene by affirming, I AM one with God, I hear His voice now, and I am guided.
