Awaken Your Inner Glory
Psalms 57:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 57 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse invites an inner awakening of glory and the inner instruments of worship, followed by outward praise of God among people and nations.
Neville's Inner Vision
Awaken, you who are consciousness itself. Your glory is not a thing outside you but the I AM within, the light by which you are aware. When you hear 'awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp,' hear the invitation to awaken every faculty of imagination and feeling—the inner instrument of your heart and mind. The line 'I myself will awake early' is your decision to rise in consciousness now, letting awareness wake before the noise of daily thought. The psaltery and harp are not distant relics; they symbolize the delicate harmonies of imagination and affection tuned to God-consciousness. To 'praise thee, O Lord, among the people' is to let the awareness you are (I AM) express itself through your actions and presence; to 'sing unto thee among the nations' is to proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is within. You do not beg God from afar; you embody Him as your very being, and your life becomes the living testimony of that reality.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, affirm 'I AM awake in me now' and feel the inner glory rise; then imagine praising God openly among the people, letting your inner state radiate into the world.
