Psalms 56:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 56 in context

Scripture Focus

5Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
7Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.
Psalms 56:5-7

Biblical Context

The verses describe foes twisting his words, plotting against him, and waiting to trap his soul; they wonder about escaping judgment, and he appeals to God for righteous judgment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your consciousness the 'enemies' are inner states: fear, doubt, and habit. 'Every day they wrest my words' becomes the daily argument against your declarations; 'they mark my steps' is the shadowing voice tracking your next move. Do these doubts escape the effect of your inner conviction? The I AM is the sole Power; by assuming a new decree and feeling it real, you disarm the inner conspirators. Rather than seeking vengeance outside, you cast down old appearances by the fierce energy of inner certainty. When you stand firm in I AM, your imagination becomes your governor, and the outer scene mirrors your revised state. You are not subject to enemies but the very creator of the stage on which they vanish.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, breathe, and declare: I AM the authority of my own reality. In your inner dialogue, revise any attack by affirming 'I speak only from the I AM; my words are true and unopposed,' until that feeling is real.
