Neville's Inner Vision
Psalm 56:4-11 invites you to awaken to the truth that God is the I AM within you. When you declare In God I will praise His word, in God I have put my trust, you are not petitioning a distant power, you are aligning your entire consciousness with a state of safety. The sense that enemies plot against you is not outside you; it is the activity of your own scattered thoughts until you choose a center. The line They gather themselves and mark my steps becomes the internal drama that ceases when you hold to one royalty -- God is for me. To feel this is to turn from fear of flesh to the realization that your inner being is indwelt by the divine presence, and every tear is kept in a bottle by the same I AM. When you cry unto God, the enemies turn back; this is the recognition that turning is caused by your affirmed state. So practice by assuming the state of trust now, and dwell in gratitude and praise as the sensation of reality. The moment you inhabit this I AM, you will know you are supported, and fear dissolves into luminous faith.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of I AM within you. Silently declare, In God I have put my trust, feel the relief as fear dissolves, and imagine your tears being held in the bottle of the divine I AM, while your steps are now calmly watched over and turned back by the inner ally.
