Read Psalms 55 in context

Scripture Focus

10Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it.
11Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.
Psalms 55:10-11

Biblical Context

Day and night, the city is busy with mischief and sorrow. Wickedness sits in the midst, and deceit never departs from its streets.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the walls are not stone but your own consciousness; the ongoing moves of thought along the inner boundaries describe your state of awareness. When the text says day and night they go about it, it is your unceasing mental activity around the self you call 'city.' The mischief and sorrow are not imposed from outside but are the inner movements you tolerate as reality. Wickedness, deceit, and guile in the streets are beliefs you have accepted about life, the persistent patterns by which you identify yourself. To alter the outward is to revise the inward: assume the I AM as the sole governor of your inner realm and choose a new, harmonious order—truth, integrity, and love regulating every street. Do not battle appearances; rather, dwell in a state where you know you are that which you seek. As you feel this new state with steady conviction, the inner walls shift and the outer scene becomes a faithful echo of your inner truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume, 'I am pure, I am truthful, I am the I AM.' Feel this truth in your chest until it reverberates through every wall of your inner city, then watch the streets reflect your new consciousness.
