Inner Zion: Salvation Now
Psalms 53:3-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 53 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm speaks of a people who have turned away, become corrupt, and live in fear, longing for Israel's salvation. It promises that restoration comes when God returns the captivity, bringing rejoicing to Jacob and Israel.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that this is not a report about others out there; it is a map of your inner states. The lines 'every one of them is gone back' and 'there is none that doeth good' describe your former beliefs when you forget the I AM within. The 'workers of iniquity' who 'eat up my people' are the thoughts and habits that feed on fear, unless you call upon God. The fear described in places where there should be none reveals the dream of separation, dissolvable when you remember that God has scattered the bones of the encampment by shifting your attention to inner Zion—the all-knowing awareness. The cry 'Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion' becomes your invitation to realize that salvation is the inward realization of your true I AM; when you bring back the captivity by your assumed, deeply felt faith in God within, Jacob shall rejoice, Israel shall be glad—here and now.
Practice This Now
Assume you are Israel, awakened in Zion. Call upon God within now, revise the old belief of separation, and feel the salvation as your present reality.
