The Inner Fire Approaches

Psalms 50:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 50 in context

Scripture Focus

3Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
Psalms 50:3

Biblical Context

God is coming and will not be silent. A consuming fire devours before Him, and a tempest surrounds His presence.

Neville's Inner Vision

God coming is not a future event in space, but the awakening of your I AM awareness. The fire described is not a forest blaze; it is the purifying flame of your clarified consciousness burning away doubt, limitation, and old concepts of separateness. The tempest is the stirring of the subconscious, the shaking of stale beliefs, until only the truth of you, the I AM, remains. When you claim that God is coming, you are claiming that your awareness is enlarging, that you are no longer bound by the old ego's stories. The before Him word points to the altar within where imagination moves. The fire devouring before Him indicates that as you dwell in the sense I AM God or I AM that I AM, the residual images of lack and fear melt away. The tempest around Him is the old mental weather clearing so that Being can shine unblocked. Embrace this as not punishment but invitation: return to the source of your sense of self and let your now-awake I AM radiate.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the state I AM is here now. Feel the cleansing fire around your awareness dissolving doubt as you rest in that Presence.
