Psalms 5:2-3

Biblical Context

Psalm 5:2-3 invites the inner self to hear and align with the inner King and God, directing morning prayer toward the I AM and looking up into conscious divine presence.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this psalm, the speaker names the inner sovereign—the I AM—addressing Him as King and God and choosing to pray directly to that inner presence. Hearkening to the cry is not to a distant deity but to the calling of your own consciousness; the 'voice' is the movement of desire and faith within. When the morning arrives, the cry is heard because the mind has decided that the I AM is listening; the day is started by turning attention from lack to the royalty of awareness. To 'direct my prayer' is to issue an assumption into the inner atmosphere: decree that the divine government is active now, that this inner king governs every condition. 'Look up' means lift your awareness to the spiritual fact that you exist as God’s idea, not as mere behavior. By repeating this inward petition at dawn, you align thought, feeling, and imagination with the truth that you already are the presence you seek, and the world follows the light of that awakening.

Practice This Now

At dawn, sit quietly, close your eyes, and mentally declare: I AM the King and God within. Feel the authority of that state as you direct your day from this inner government.
