The line 'compass him as with a shield' is the image of your own mind surrounding your every move with protective grace. This shield is not armor you polish; it is the certainty that the divine presence is always at hand, arranging circumstances to reflect your inward posture. In practical terms, you revise any sense of vulnerability by stepping into the present reality that you are cared for by the I AM. Your job is to hold the state of blessing as an inner fact, letting it shape thoughts, words, and choices. Do not seek favors from without; imagine that you already live under inner protection, and outward events will harmonize with that truth.
