Inner Redemption Of Psalms

Psalms 49:7-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 49 in context

Scripture Focus

7None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
8(For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
9That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
Psalms 49:7-9

Biblical Context

The psalm says external wealth cannot redeem a brother. True ransom lies in the soul's inner life, beyond appearances.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed through the I AM, this psalm is not a condemnation of wealth but a gentle reminder that outward ransom is impossible because life is a state of consciousness. None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him becomes a statement of spiritual law: the real value of any life is inward, not purchased. The redemption of the soul is precious, and it ceases for ever to be sought as a thing outside you; when you awake to the truth that you are the I AM, you no longer barter for salvation in the market of appearances. That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption speaks to a consciousness that refuses to interpret mortality as final; it is the inner life of awareness that endures, forever untouched by the body's decay. Your brother, your friend, even your own sense of self, are seen in this light as states of consciousness that can be transformed by the one power you truly trust—the I AM within.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the state: I AM the redemption of all souls within me now. Feel the sense of separation dissolving as you rest in that I AM.
