Wealth's Illusion, Inner Ransom

Psalms 49:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 49 in context

Scripture Focus

6They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
Psalms 49:6-7

Biblical Context

The psalm warns wealth cannot buy redemption or ransom for another; true value lies beyond riches. It contrasts outer security with inner truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Viewed through the I AM, the line becomes a revelation that wealth is only a symbol of a state of mind, not a reality of being. When you say 'they trust in their wealth,' you point to a habit of consciousness that believes security arises from numbers and possessions. The phrase 'nor give to God a ransom for him' exposes the illusion that money can repair separation or purchase forgiveness. Yet you—the I AM—are the living awareness that creates everything. Redemption is not a ledger entry but a change of inner conviction: you choose to be the one who forgives, to stand in the unity that renders another's freedom as your own freedom, defined by love, not by bank balances. Imagination is the ransom: when you imagine yourself fully provided, you dissolve fear of lack; when you imagine your brother as already whole in God, you dissolve the illusion of separation. Let the inner vision replace external measure; let the feeling of I AM redeeming all be your daily practice.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the I AM as the source of all redemption for your brother. Feel the inner harmony as if wealth were the natural expression of that peace.
