Inner Wealth That Endures

Psalms 49:16-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 49 in context

Scripture Focus

16Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
Psalms 49:16-17

Biblical Context

The passage warns that wealth and outward glory are transient and cannot accompany one into the grave. Neville's angle reframes this as a cue to seek lasting abundance within, not in riches.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 49:16-17 speaks to the fear that wealth and the glory of a house grant permanence. But in the inner light, I tell you: there is a state of consciousness that wealth merely reflects. Be not afraid when one is made rich—fear arises from identifying with the changing surface of life, the banner and the bank account. The glory of his house is a projection of self-importance; when he dies, the outer pageant cannot travel with him, and yet the I AM remains untouched. Therefore, do not seek security in externals, for you are the awareness that witnesses all succession. Your present state of consciousness determines what seems to arrive as wealth; the moment you assume the feeling of abundance, you have it, even if the world calls it different. The body of wealth fades, but the internal observer persists. So revise in imagination: you are the I AM that never dies, the source of all supply, and the glory you value is the inner radiance of being, not the property of a house or a name. When you rest in that truth, you can enjoy physical abundance without fear of loss, knowing it flows from the inside out.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of the I AM as your constant wealth; in a moment of stillness, declare I am the Presence that cannot die, and imagine abundance flowing from within into every area of life.
