Psalms 48:2-3

Biblical Context

Psalm 48:2-3 extols Zion as a beautiful, joyful center of divine kingship and the place where God is known as refuge.

Neville's Inner Vision

Zion is your inner state where the I AM stands sovereign. The sides of the north signal the inner compass turning toward the higher presence, the Great King within. Mount Zion becomes the feeling tone of kingship, the joy of the whole earth, because it rests in your consciousness. God is known in her palaces as a refuge when you imagine from the end: see yourself surrounded by protection, hear the city's praise as the recognition that you are not separate from the divine. In this inner vantage, every thought and sensation becomes a palace where safety abides; fear dissolves into the certainty that the I AM is always present and attentive. Your imagination is the map and the gate: you assume the feeling of being in Zion now, and life rearranges itself to fit that assumption. The refuge is not away from you but the posture of your awareness where you awaken to the Great King's rule inside.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you are already in Zion, the inner city of the Great King. Feel the I AM preside there and let the sense of refuge flood your body until it becomes your immediate reality.
