2For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
Psalms 43:2

Biblical Context

Neville's Inner Vision

Your inner God is the I AM, the unwavering strength that never abandons you. When the psalmist asks why you cast me off, he is not pleading with a distant deity but encountering a momentary state of consciousness that forgets its own reality. The God of strength is not outside you but the awareness that attends every thought, feeling, and appearance. The sense of being cast off, the mourning, and the oppression of the enemy are inner movements—beliefs that pretend to bind you to limitation. Turn your attention to the I AM and refuse to identify with the drama. In practice, assume the feeling I AM the strength of God within me now. Rehearse this until it neutralizes the fear, then watch as outer appearances respond to the inner decree. Imagination is the tool: imagine the presence of the I AM steadying the mind, lifting sorrow, and dissolving enemies into harmless thoughts. You do not conquer God; you awaken to who you are as God-awareness present here and now.

Practice This Now

Practice: close your eyes and repeat, I AM the strength of God within me now. Then imagine a warm inner light expanding from your chest, dissolving the sense of abandonment and the appearance of the enemy.
