Neville's Inner Vision
When I read Mine enemies speak evil of me, I hear a clarion call to the inner world. The 'enemies' are not persons out there, but restless states of consciousness—doubt, fear, the habit of negative naming. Their cry, When shall he die, and his name perish, is a demand that a former you be erased. In Neville fashion, you do not battle these thoughts; you refuse to identify with them. Instead you shift your assumption. I am, now, the One whose I AM is unthreatened by a passing image. The moment you allow the mind to rest in the certainty of your true nature, the dream of death for the old self dissolves. Imagination creates reality; so you imagine the self complete, untouch by the hurled words of the 'enemy', and you act from that imagined wholeness. The inner scene precedes the outer fact; therefore the only thing that shifts is your consciousness, not the world outside.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit quietly, repeat the assumed fact 'I am the I AM, untouched by any spoken curse'; feel the truth in your chest and dwell in that consciousness until a sense of wholeness returns.
