Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalmist proclaims righteousness openly, testifies to God's faithfulness and salvation, and asks for tender mercies to preserve him. In Neville's frame, these are inner states you hold and reveal in consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the ear of your soul, the 'great congregation' is the vast assembly within the mind—your many states of awareness. When you 'preach righteousness' in that inner temple, you are not telling God something new; you are naming the truth of your own nature, aligning with your I AM. Not hiding thy righteousness within my heart means you stop withholding the law of your being from your own inner theatre. You declare thy faithfulness and thy salvation; these are the living guarantees of your present reality when you refuse to conceal them from the inner congregation. Withhold not thy tender mercies from me—let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me—reads as an injunction to allow grace and truth to govern every thought, mood, and choice. In Neville's terms, you create by imagination: you restore the awareness of your oneness with God and claim that such mercy and truth are now your experience. The moment you assume this truth, the outer world follows your inner state. Your practice is to repeat, feel, and dwell in the assumption that you are preserved by the inner laws of love and truth.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am righteousness proclaimed; I am preserved by lovingkindness and truth.' Feel that reality as real now, letting your inner congregation confirm it.
