Scripture Focus

5Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
Psalms 40:5

Biblical Context

Psalm 40:5 declares that God's wonderful works and thoughts toward us are vast beyond counting. It presents the divine activity as constant, inward provision within the soul.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 40:5 speaks of God's wonderful works and thoughts toward us as an inexhaustible process. In Neville's view, God is not distant but within, the I AM you are aware of. The works and thoughts are inner movements of consciousness, a continuous stream of providence, guidance, and wisdom that never ends. Because these thoughts toward you are innumerable, your life is not ruled by lack or chance but by the constant overflow of divine attention in your mind. When you recognize that you are the seat of this activity, you can treat any situation as a translation of the divine mind into outer form. The key practice is to assume a state in which these works are already true: that you are loved, supplied, guided, and supported. Do not seek miracles outside; dwell in the inner verdict that all is well now because God, your I AM, is thinking of you and acting through you. With persistent alignment, outer events reflect this inner abundance.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, rest in the I AM within, and imagine a ceaseless procession of blessings labeled God's thoughts toward me flowing through you; then affirm I am surrounded by innumerable divine works now.
