Read Psalms 38 in context

Scripture Focus

19But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
20They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.
Psalms 38:19-20

Biblical Context

Psalm 38:19–20 speaks of enemies who are strong and multiplied against one who follows what is good. It names adversaries who render evil for good, highlighting the inner clash with righteousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 38:19–20 reveals that the so-called enemies are not distant invaders but lively movements of a mind clinging to fear when I claim what is good. As I dwell in the I AM—awareness that I am—these inner militants seem strong only because I forget my creative power. But I do not abandon the good; I revise the scene until the feeling state of it is real. I imagine that the good is already established in me and through me, and that every counter-thought is simply a signal to reaffirm the end I intend. The adversaries thus dissolve, not by battling them in the old way, but by turning my attention to the state that precedes them: the certainty that I am the good I desire, and that the world bends to that truth. In this moment I am faithful to truth, and the outer appears to reflect it.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the I AM is already victorious in the good you seek. Feel it real.
