Inner Vision Over Outer Power

Psalms 37:35-36 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 37 in context

Scripture Focus

35I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
Psalms 37:35-36

Biblical Context

The verse notes that the wicked may rise to great power and appear solid, but their influence passes and they vanish from sight. It points to an inner reality that endures beyond changing appearances.

Neville's Inner Vision

That verse speaks to your inner sight. The wicked with great power is a symbol of a state of consciousness clinging to separation and the belief that circumstance rules you. The green bay tree image represents a condition that seems lush and permanent because you have invested in it with attention. Yet the text declares that such power passes away and cannot be found when you seek it in the outer world, for it was never apart from your own I AM. The spiritual law at work is simple: every outward appearance is a projection of your inner state, and by shifting the state you occupy, the image dissolves. When you insist that the I AM is the sole reality—the tenant and the landlord of all you experience—you render the old picture useless. Providence is not an external rescue but your awareness, consistently felt and assumed. Your task is to dwell in that inner reality until the outer scene reflects it, not the other way around.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM as your permanent reality. Feel and see the outer power dissolve as you rest in that inner light.
