Psalms 37:3-5

Biblical Context

Psalm 37:3-5 invites trust in the LORD, do good, delight in the LORD, and commit your way, with the promise that your desires will be brought to pass.

Neville's Inner Vision

All three verses describe the inner state of consciousness. Trust in the LORD is not a plea outside, but a surrender of attention to the I AM that knows your desires as already fulfilled. To do good outwardly is the natural expression of an inner alignment you hold. Delighting in the LORD is feeding your consciousness with the joy that already exists in your inner kingdom, so the heart's desires begin to appear as if given by your own inner governor. Commit your way, and trust also in Him; imagine your goal as already accomplished and permit the subtler movements of feeling to match that state. The 'land' you dwell in is the inner ground of awareness—the steady sense that you are guided and provided for. When you live from that inner state, you become the person who has what you seek, and the outer events will follow as the image takes form.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume the state of your desire fulfilled; feel it as real now. Then revise a simple, current scene to reflect that completion, letting the inner feeling govern what you see.
