Psalms 37:29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 37 in context

Scripture Focus

29The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
Psalms 37:29

Biblical Context

The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell there forever, a plain promise of a lasting inner domain. It points to a state of consciousness that, once established, remains your continual dwelling.

Neville's Inner Vision

All that the psalm speaks of is not a geographic promise but a law of consciousness. The righteous are those who have identified with the I AM within; the land is the inner realm you secure by feeling the wish fulfilled. To inherit it is to assume that you already possess the conditions of your desire, and to dwell there forever is to refuse to wake from that state. In this reading, the external seems to follow the inner verdict of your imagination, for imagination creates reality. The moment you accept this as your reality, you awaken to a stable country within; your days are spent ruling from the throne of awareness, not chasing shadows. Remember that God is awareness, not a distant person. Covenant loyalty is fidelity to the present feeling of the wish fulfilled, a continuous remembrance of I AM as your true self. The kingdom is your present experience when you refuse to vacillate between lack and abundance; you simply dwell in the land you have assumed.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine waking inside your inner land. Feel the air, the ground beneath your feet, and the quiet authority of being its rightful ruler; repeat I AM in you and declare that you now inhabit the righteous land you have chosen, dwelling there forever.
