Read Psalms 36 in context

Scripture Focus

9For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Psalms 36:9-10

Biblical Context

Psalm 36:9-10 presents God as the source of life and light, and the upright in heart as those who know Him and receive His lovingkindness and righteousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

To interpret these lines is to consider that the fountain of life is not outside you but you as the self-consciousness that is always aware. 'With thee is the fountain of life' means your I AM, your attention, is the source that nourishes every perception. In thy light shall we see light: the moment you turn your attention to the inner light of awareness, you perceive more light. The light does not come from without; it reveals what you already are experiencing within. The 'lovingkindness' and 'righteousness' are not moral judgments pressed from heaven but states of consciousness you choose to inhabit: know Thyself, and your actions align with integrity and grace because you are the one who knows. As you dwell in the awareness that you ARE God in expression, your world reflects kindness and uprightness, smoothly returning to you as the fruit of your inner state. Practice this by assuming the feeling of the I AM as your only reality, and let your daily perceptions revise to confirm that your life is established in the fountain of life and its light.

Practice This Now

Assume the state: I am the fountain of life; in me there is the light that reveals light. Close your eyes, breathe, and quietly repeat 'I am the I AM' until the sense of separation dissolves; then observe how your day reflects greater light and lovingkindness.
