Reframing Deceitful Speech

Psalms 36:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 36 in context

Scripture Focus

3The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
Psalms 36:3

Biblical Context

Verse 36:3 shows deceitful words arise from an inner state lacking wisdom and good; it invites turning inward to revise the consciousness you identify with.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the words of his mouth as a symbol of inner narration. The Psalm states that the mouth speaks deceit and that wisdom and good are abandoned. In Neville’s practice, the "he" is you, the center of awareness, and the cure is to refuse to identify with the old script. The I AM, the one constant presence, can revise the state by assuming the opposite of the given verse: 'I am the wisdom; I am the good I seek; my speech flows from truth.' When you dwell in this assumption, the feelings follow: a calm, luminous certainty that you are not imprisoned by past words. Each moment you repeat 'I am' as the truth of your being, the inner movement shifts; the external words lose their power to injure because you are no longer identified with their deceit. In time, the inner state becomes your daily expression, and the law of consciousness silently rearranges situations to reflect the new truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Assume the state now: 'I am wise; my words are true and good.' Feel it real as you breathe and let the inner speech align with wisdom.
