Rising From Fallen States

Psalms 36:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 36 in context

Scripture Focus

12There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
Psalms 36:12

Biblical Context

Plain sense: The verse states that evildoers have fallen, cast down, and shall not rise again. It presents a judgment on the fate of those who act deceitfully.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville lens, the 'workers of iniquity' are inner states and patterns, not distant people. They arise from fear, pride, and judgment that seem to govern us. 'Fallen' marks a collapse in consciousness away from the I AM—the single, steady awareness you truly are. 'Cast down' is the natural consequence of letting a false image hold sway, the mind's automatic correction when faced with true consciousness. 'Shall not be able to rise' points to the law of assumption: a mind dwelling in such a fallen state cannot sustain it; you can reverse by returning to the I AM and choosing a risen state. Practice the act of revision: imagine, with feeling, that you are the I AM, the constant awareness behind all thoughts. When you dwell there, the old pattern loses its power and cannot reassert itself. Your life follows the inner conviction you cultivate, and the Psalm becomes a map for choosing an awakened, unfallen state here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Close your eyes and assume, in the present tense, 'I AM rising.' Feel the old pattern dissolve and stand as the risen self, right now.
