I AM Shield Against Pride

Psalms 36:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 36 in context

Scripture Focus

11Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
12There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
Psalms 36:11-12

Biblical Context

Pride invites downfall and the wicked are cast down. The verses also promise protection for the humble and the righteous and their security in the inner state of awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner theatre of consciousness, the 'foot of pride' is the creeping habit of making self-importance the ruler of feeling, while the 'hand of the wicked' is fear that external forces can remove you from your sense of security. The psalm speaks not of external persons but of inner states. When you acknowledge the I AM as your true identity, pride loses its grip, for you are not defined by it. The 'workers of iniquity' are those thoughts that would cast doubt on your state; they fall away as you persist in the truth that you are the living, aware presence that cannot be moved by appearances. The law revealed is this: imagine from the end, revise every thought of attack, and rest in the certainty of your invincible consciousness, and reality will follow your inner conviction of safety and justice.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume the I AM as your sole reality and revise any threat as a passing mental image. Feel that invincible consciousness now and let the image of opposition dissolve.
