Biblical Context
Psalm 34:22 teaches that God rescues the souls of His servants, and that those who trust in Him will not be desolate. It points to inner safety grounded in faith.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the reader, the phrase 'The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants' is not about external rescue alone, but an inner act of awakening. Reconceive 'redeem' as a returning to the state of consciousness in which you know you are held by the I AM within. The 'soul' is your living sense of self, formed by the pictures you consistently accept. When you 'trust in him'—the I AM within—you cease wandering in fear and align with the divine memory of who you are. Desolation is simply the belief that your circumstance defines you; the verse asserts that such belief dissolves when you abide in inner assurance. The practice is to assume the feeling of being redeemed now, and to revise any sense of abandonment. Let your imagination work as the instrument of revival, seeing yourself protected, guided, and supported by the I AM. By dwelling in this state, redemption becomes your present reality rather than a distant hope.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, repeat 'I AM redeemed; I trust the I AM within,' and feel a warm current of security flowing through you; imagine a guiding light surrounding you, affirming you are never desolate.
