Read Psalms 31 in context

Scripture Focus

19Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
20Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.
Psalms 31:19-21

Biblical Context

God’s goodness is stored for those who fear and trust Him. He hides them in the secret of His presence, shielding them from the pride and strife of others, blessing them in a strong city.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this psalm, the hidden goodness is a state of consciousness realized by fear of God and trust in the I AM. The secret presence is an inner sanctuary you enter by assumption, where the voices of pride and rumor lose their power. When you dwell there, a strong inner city of security, mercy, and grace rises, and your imagination becomes the instrument by which external conditions are formed to match this inner reality. The words Oh how great is thy goodness are a reminder that the life you seek already exists within your awareness, waiting for you to affirm it until it becomes your lived experience. If you remain faithful to the inward feeling of being loved and protected, your world will reflect that protection and kindness in due season.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Assume you are already dwelling in the secret presence and feel the calm there now. When thoughts of lack or attack arise, revise by affirming I am within the I AM and the grace of the strong city flows to me.
