Biblical Context
The psalmist declares trust in the LORD and acknowledges God as their guide. They seek deliverance, mercy, and protection from enemies and slander.
Neville's Inner Vision
Remember, this is not about pleading to a distant deity, but about entering a state of consciousness. When the psalmist says, 'My times are in thy hand,' they name the inner arrangement of life in the I AM. The 'enemies' are not external attackers but restless thoughts, doubts, and lack that rise in consciousness. To trust is to assume a state of awareness in which the I AM orders every moment. 'Deliver me' becomes the act of awakening to the truth that you are held and guided by God’s radiant face within—an inner light that dissolves fear and returns clarity. 'Mercies' sake' is recognition that mercy is the habit of the I AM toward the manifested self. When you claim 'Thou art my God,' you declare your allegiance to the inner Divine presence, and the outer life adjusts to this perception, silencing lies and hostile voices against the righteous. Your day is not ruled by luck but by the state you dwell in, the light you cultivate.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the I AM state, whisper 'Thou art my God' and feel the relief as if you are already delivered. Hold this sensation for a few minutes, letting the inner light dissolve fear.
