Psalms 3:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 3 in context

Scripture Focus

1Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
2Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
3But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
4I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
Psalms 3:1-4

Biblical Context

Troubles multiply and the sense of help seems absent. Yet the Lord is invoked as shield, salvation, and the speaker cries, trusting that God hears.

Neville's Inner Vision

Psalm 3:1-4 is not about external foes but about states of mind. The Lord is the I AM, the shield that covers every thought, the glory that I am, and the lifter of my head in right consciousness. When fear says there is no help in God, that is a misalignment with the present truth; I turn within to the holy hill where God hears. I cry, and the I AM answers in quiet, decisive presence—an inner lifting that changes how I stand in the world. The truth is immediate: protection, guidance, and uplift occur the moment I accept that I am seen by divine awareness. Salvation, then, is the revival of the self in alignment with God, here and now, not a distant rescue.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your shield; declare I am protected, I am heard and feel your head lifted in awareness. Repeat this until the sense of response is real.
