Psalms 28:7-8

Biblical Context

The psalm declares God as strength and shield. Trust in Him brings help, joy, and praise.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the psalm you hear the I AM speaking in you. 'The LORD is my strength and my shield' is not a petition but a declaration: strength is an inner state, not a distant resource. When 'my heart trusted in him, and I am helped' you are practicing assent to the truth that awareness sustains you. The shield is your mental atmosphere of faith, a conviction that cannot be toppled by appearances. As you dwell there, you revise every sense of limitation by silently affirming, I am held by the I AM; I am helped now. Joy arises spontaneously, and your song becomes praise because you have identified with the divine current within. The line 'the LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed' declares that the anointed are those who live from this inward light—the I AM that saves in every moment. In this act of inner seeing, you discover that creation follows your state of consciousness: strength and protection are already yours when you assume them as real.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and declare, 'The LORD is my strength and shield; my heart trusts, and I am helped.' Close your eyes and feel a warm, protective presence surrounding you; linger in that feeling-real until you sense a shift toward ease.
