Biblical Context
Psalm 28:6-8 declares that God has heard the speaker's supplications. It portrays the LORD as strength and shield, and the response of a heart that trusts is help, joy, and praise.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this psalm the voice of supplication is heard by the I AM that you are. The LORD as strength and shield shows that your very consciousness is fortress and protection; to trust this inner presence is to receive help as a fact of being, not as luck. When you inhabit that inner state, your heart rejoices and a song of gratitude arises, proof of a mind that has accepted its power. The 'anointed' points to the awakened self—the part of you inseparable from God, carrying saving strength by the act of awareness itself. Thus the outer world bends to the truth you hold within: you are attended, strengthened, and guided from within. The practical rule is clear: assume the feeling of the fulfilled state, revise lingering lack, and feel it real until it becomes your normal orientation. Imagination creates reality, and you are the imagining I AM through which all life moves.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, eyes closed, and revise your sense to 'The LORD is my strength and shield'—feel it as your own inner state, then declare 'I am helped' and let confidence rise.
