Biblical Context
Psalm 28:5-6 contrasts ignoring God's works with blessing when God hears our prayers; inner neglect leads to inner destruction, while prayer opens a channel to blessing.
Neville's Inner Vision
You are the I AM, and the 'works of the LORD' in this psalm are the inner activities of perception, imagination, and will by which you build or unbuild your world. When you regard not their operation, you leave your inner temple unguarded, and the order of your life dissolves into confusion—this is the 'destruction' the text speaks of, not some distant judgment but a collapse of the builder within. But when you bless the Lord—the awareness you are and always were—by acknowledging that your supplications are heard, you activate a new movement in consciousness. The voice of your asking becomes the confirmed reality you live from; the hands that 'destroy' or 'build' are now aligned with a single, creative impulse: imagination acting with conviction. The contrast in the psalm is not about God outside you, but about your own inner alignment: neglect of the inner works invites turbulence; grateful reception of your prayers invites blessing, order, and constructive creation. So the kingdom within you awakens not by begging, but by realizing the I AM has already answered in the form of your next inward action.
Practice This Now
Assume the Lord has heard your supplication and that your inner world now rebuilds itself in blessing; close your eyes, feel the posture of gratitude, and imagine a vivid scene where your desire is already fulfilled.
