Biblical Context
David prays not to be drawn away by the wicked, who outwardly speak peace but inwardly cultivate mischief. He trusts the Lord as his strength and shield, acknowledges God’s listening to his prayers, and ends with joyful praise.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville’s mode, the 'wicked' and their 'mischief' are inner states of consciousness—the habitual thoughts that pretend peace while plotting separation. When I say, 'Draw me not away,' I am reasserting alignment with the I AM, not begging the world to change, but re-centering my attention on divine presence. The decree 'give them according to their deeds' translates to the inner law of life: I receive what I persist in believing. If I dwell in fear or doubt, I feel contraction; if I regard not the works of the LORD, I become aware of destruction in my world. So I return to the supplication within, letting the divine voice govern my day and recognizing that the LORD is my strength and shield. My heart trusts, I am helped, and joy rises into song. Providence is a correction of focus, not punishment—I'm always led to a higher sense of self where peace, protection, and praise are natural, living through my imagination as reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and affirm inwardly, 'The Lord is my strength and shield.' Then, imagine the I AM surrounding you with light, and feel your heart trust and rise in gratitude for protection and guidance.
