Biblical Context
The psalmist prays to God for guidance, protection from the wicked, and fair judgment for the deceitful.
Neville's Inner Vision
Read as Neville would, this is not a cry to a distant God but an invitation to awaken the I AM within. The 'voice of supplications' is your inner demand, lifted to the 'holy oracle'—that sacred awareness you call God. 'Draw me not away with the wicked' becomes, in effect, 'do not permit me to drift into fear, complaint, or the false belief that lack governs my life.' The 'workers of iniquity' are the restless thoughts that pretend to peace while plotting harm in the heart—your own doubting, negating imaginations. The psalmist asks for judgment according to deeds; you are taught to render to yourself the fate you imply with inner acts. When you align your inner activity with pure being—your I AM—your outer circumstances shift to reflect that inner alignment. Your hands (attention) are lifted toward awareness; your supplication is a vivid assumption that you are already the one who dispenses justice to the noisy inner conspirators. In short, image a reality where you are already free from inner deceit and acting in harmony with divine law.
Practice This Now
Sit in quiet stillness, raise your hands toward the inner oracle, and silently repeat an affirmation of being: I AM; I am now free from deceit, and I stand in perfect justice. Hold that feeling for several minutes and revise any troubling scene to reflect the already-lit state of peace.
