The Inner Light of Courage
Psalms 27:1-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Psalm 27:1-3 presents a bold stance of fearless trust in the LORD as light, salvation, and fortress, regardless of outward foes.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the psalm as a doorway into the I AM, the living awareness that lights every moment. The words the LORD is my light and my salvation point not to a distant place but to the inner state you cultivate. When you imagine the self as consciousness alone, foes become projections of fear, and the armies arrayed against you dissolve in the certainty that you stand within a fortress of is-ness. To live this is to choose one supreme atmosphere—the certainty that you are the brightness that never fades, the strength that cannot be exhausted. As you dwell in that I AM, the wicked and enemies show up as riffs of doubt, and they trip on the ground of your turning-away from limitation. Your heart remains unshaken because your attention has shifted from the appearance of conflict to the perception of invincible being. To enact this, assume the I AM as your present reality, feel it real with every breath, and permit the imagined power to quiet outer disturbance. Then the outer will reflect your inner sovereignty, and confidence rises like dawn.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly and claim I AM, the light and my salvation. Then revise fear by feeling it real and seeing foes stumble and fall in the fortress of awareness.
