Psalms 26:9-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 26 in context

Scripture Focus

9Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
10In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
11But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
12My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
Psalms 26:9-12

Biblical Context

Psalms 26:9-12 pleads not to be joined with those who do wrong, affirms a commitment to integrity, asks for redemption and mercy, and declares a steady, balanced footing that blesses God in communal worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the I AM within, the psalmist paints a scene not of distance from people but of disposition. 'Gather not my soul with sinners' is a command to withdraw from the mental alliances that fear and lack project as 'sinners' and 'bribes'—external men of mischief representing the belief that life is controlled by lifeless forces. The cry 'But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity' is the turning of the lens: the state of integrity is simply a fixed, inner alignment with the I AM, a state you claim and hold regardless of outward appearances. When the psalmist says 'redeem me, and be merciful unto me,' he is not appealing to a distant deity but returning to a remembered state of wholeness, the mercy that is the I AM aware of itself. 'My foot standeth in an even place' speaks of balance in consciousness; 'in the congregations will I bless the LORD' reveals that the blessedness of the inner state naturally expresses itself in outward community. The entire psalm is a description of how to live as the I AM, in quiet integrity, where blessing unfolds.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already standing on an even ground within your mind. Feel the I AM supporting you as you declare, inwardly, I walk in integrity now; see yourself entering your day from this balanced state, and blessing the Lord in every gathering you attend.
