20O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
Psalms 25:20-21

Biblical Context

The psalm petitions protection and deliverance, while placing trust in God. It affirms that integrity and waiting on the Lord preserve the soul.

Neville's Inner Vision

Let Psalm 25:20-21 be not a request to God apart from you, but a recognition of your own I AM presence. 'Keep my soul' is me as the I AM keeping the image I hold of myself; 'deliver me' is the movement of consciousness from fear into the light of awareness. To trust in thee is to trust the inner governor, the God within, and to let my attention rest upon that unwavering center. 'Integrity and uprightness preserve me' becomes the daily refusal to identify with lesser states; it is the disciplined alignment of my thoughts and deeds with the truth I choose. And 'wait on thee' is waiting on the inner source with patience, not passivity. When I dwell in that state, deliverance arrives as a felt shift in being—the sensation that I am rightly preserved by my own higher self. The outer life then aligns with the inner state, revealing a coherence that once seemed distant.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume the state of being kept by your higher self; repeat I am kept by the I AM until you feel a steady, safe center. Then act from that upright, trusted state in your next choice or conversation.
