Psalms 24:9-10

Biblical Context

Psalm 24:9-10 invites lifting the gates of the inner self so the King of Glory may enter; the King of Glory is identified as the LORD of hosts, a sovereign presence within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the gates are not doors in a city, but gates of your own awareness. When the psalm says Lift up your heads, O ye gates, it is you awakening to the posture of an I AM that is always present. The King of Glory is not coming from outside; he is the state of consciousness you embody when you acknowledge that God, the LORD of hosts, dwells in you as your very being. The gates rise as you desert fear and doubt, and you welcome the ruling presence that reigns in the kingdom within. In this view, 'Selah' is not a historical interlude but a pause in which you rest in the reality that the King is the sovereign of your mind. As you persist in the awareness of the I AM, the inner atmosphere shifts; you no longer seek glory but realize you are the Glory itself, and the world you see responds from that already realized state. Let the question 'Who is this King of glory?' fall away, replaced by the quiet certainty: I am the King of Glory here and now.

Practice This Now

Assume that the King of Glory is entering your gates now; feel the doors lift; rest in the I AM as this royal presence fills your mind.
