Read Psalms 23 in context

Scripture Focus

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Psalms 23:5-6

Biblical Context

Psalm 23:5-6 presents a scene of divine generosity: God hosts the faithful with abundance, even in the presence of enemies. It also promises lasting goodness, mercy, and a dwelling in God's house.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your life is not a mere sequence of outward events, but a state of consciousness. When the mind dwells in the I AM as host, the inner table appears before the world’s enemies. The oil on the head is the anointing of awareness, a sign that you recognize yourself as worthy, protected, and chosen. The cup that runs over is the felt experience of limited perception breaking open into sufficiency—joy, love, prosperity, and peace cascading as a continual supply. The enemies you fear are simply memories of limitation within, fading as you refuse to identify with them. Surely goodness and mercy do not chase you apart from your feeling; they are the natural byproducts of a state of grace you hold within. To dwell in the house of the LORD forever is to remain permanently conscious of the divine Presence, a home you carry wherever you go. Practice is not effort, but revision: assume you are already seated at that table; feel the fullness; and let the world conform to your inner knowing.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume the table is set before you by the I AM; feel the oil on your head and the cup running over; affirm 'I AM' the host of your life, and let goodness and mercy fill all your days.
