Biblical Context
Psalm 23:3-6 presents God as shepherd who restores, guides, provides, and remains present, inviting a dwelling in divine presence beyond fear or enemies.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the present I AM, I restore my soul by acknowledging the inner righteousness that guides my choices. The paths of righteousness are not external rules but the alignment of imagination with truth, for I am God’s name manifested as awareness. Though I walk through the valley of fear, I refuse its claim, because the I AM is with me; the rod and staff of mindful revision and encouraging imagination comfort me. I envision a table prepared before me, even now, in the midst of opposition, a sign of provision and gracious abundance. I anoint my head with oil—symbol of renewed consciousness—and my cup overflows with gratitude and creative power. Surely goodness and mercy follow me all my days as I dwell within the house of the LORD—the timeless awareness of God within. The presence of God is not a distant heaven but the steady, intimate I AM in which I exist, guided by grace.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling 'I AM restores my soul' and revise fear into calm. Then vividly picture a table prepared before you in the midst of opposition, with your cup overflowing and grace flowing to every moment.
