Restoration of the soul is a rearrangement of your inner weather. The paths of righteousness are not distant roads but the steady alignment of your consciousness with the I AM you are. 'For His name’s sake' means you live as the expression of divine nature rather than by laboring will alone. When you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, that valley is a state of fear you have learned to inhabit; the 'I' that fears is a thought, not your eternal self. The presence of God with you is the awareness that you cannot be separate from the I AM. The rod and staff are inner supports—steadfast attention, comforting belief, and disciplined acts of love—that comfort you from within. Fear dissolves as you realize your true nature is inseparable from God’s life; you are not moved by threats, because the life within you remains undisturbed. Restored, you are led onward into righteousness as your deeper name is manifested in choice and daily perception.
